Competition Overview

Theme: Our Future World  Age Groups: Kids(6-12), Junior(13-18), University Students(19-25)  Methods: Traditional Methods, Digital Tools, AI Tools  Award Sponsor: Glen Erin at Lancefield  

MK+Glen Erin Awards:

The awards for each age group are as follows:  

- First Place(1 winner) TOTAL VALUE AUD$960

  1. Cash 500 AUD
  2. One night stay for two at Glen Erin Estate with breakfast and dinner, valued at $460

 - Second Place(1 winner) TOTAL VALUE AUD$580

  1. Cash 300 AUD 
  2. One night stay for two at Glen Erin Estate, valued at $280

- Third Place(1 winner) TOTAL VALUE AUD$380:

  2. Three-course dinner for two at Glen Erin Estate Restaurant, valued at $180

Detailed Plan

1. Competition Announcement

  • Date: 17/06/2024 Channels: Social media, partner schools and universities, art communities, MKF and sponsor websites 
  • Content: Announcement of the competition, theme, age groups, methods, prizes, and submission details

2. Registration and Submission

  • Registration Period: 17/06/2024 - 10/08/ 2024 
  • Submission Deadline: 10/08/2024 
  • Submission Method: Online submission through the MKF platform. Participants can upload digital files or photos of their traditional artwork.

3. Video Webinars 

  • Content: 

           - Introduction to the theme "Our Future World

           - Tips and techniques for using traditional methods, digital tools, and AI tools

           - Q&A sessions with professional artists and digital creators

4. Judging Criteria

  • Creativity and Originality: 30% Relevance to Theme: 25% Technical Skill: 20% Aesthetic Appeal: 15% Public Voting: 10%

5. Judging Panel

  • Composition: Professional artists, digital creators, AI experts, and representatives from Glen Erin at Lancefield

6. Public Voting

  • Date: August - Oct, 2024 
  • Platform: MKF website and social media pages 
  • Details: Top 100 finalists from each age group will be selected by the judging panel. Public voting will contribute to the final scores.

7. Award Ceremony

  • Date: Oct-Dec, 2024  
  • Venue: Melbourne 
  • Program:  - Welcome speech by MKF and Glen Erin representatives - Presentation of finalists' works - Announcement of winners and awarding of prizes - Networking session with artists, participants, and sponsors

8. Promotion of Winning Creations

  • Timeline: Announce by Sponsor Glen Erin at Lancefield  
  • Activities: - Printing and distribution of winning creations as labels on Glen Erin wine and sparkling drinks - Featured stories on MKF and Glen Erin websites - Promotion on social media and during events

Age Group Details

1. Kids (Ages 6-12) 

Objective: 

Encourage young children to express their imagination and creativity about the future world through simple and colourful artwork. 

Methods: 

- Traditional: Drawing, painting, collage 

- Digital: Basic digital painting apps, simple graphic design tools Workshops: 

- Introduction to the theme and brainstorming ideas - Basic drawing and painting techniques 

- Digital art creation using kid-friendly tools 

Submission Requirements: Artwork must be submitted in JPG or PNG format for digital entries; scanned images for traditional entries.

2. Junior (Ages 13-18) 

Objective: 

Challenge teenagers to think critically about the future and represent their ideas through more sophisticated artistic techniques. 

Methods: 

- Traditional: Drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture 

- Digital: Graphic design, digital illustration, basic animation 

- AI Tools

- Exploring the theme and conceptualising future scenarios 

- Advanced drawing and painting techniques 

- Introduction to digital illustration and basic animation 

- Using AI tools for creative expression Submission Requirements: Artwork must be submitted in high-resolution JPG, PNG, or video format for animations; photos or scans for traditional entries.

3. University Students (Ages 19-25)

Objective: 

Encourage university students to integrate their academic knowledge and artistic skills to envision a future world. 

Methods: 

- Traditional: Painting, sculpture, installation art 

- Digital: Digital painting, 3D modelling, animation 

- AI Tools

- In-depth exploration of the theme and societal implications 

- Advanced techniques in traditional and digital art forms 

- 3D modelling and animation 

Submission Requirements: Artwork must be submitted in high-resolution digital formats suitable for printing; video files for animations and 3D models.

General Submission Guidelines

  • Digital Entries: Must be submitted via email:info@miraclekidsfest.com. 
  • Submit number: 1 - 3
  • Acceptable formats include JPG, PNG, MP4, and other common digital formats. Maximum 2M
  • Traditional Entries: Participants must submit high-quality scans or photographs of their work. 
  • Physical submissions are not required. 
  • AI-Generated Art: Participants must provide a brief description of the AI tools used and the creative process involved.

Judging and Evaluation

  • Criteria: 
  • - Creativity and Originality: How unique and innovative is the artwork? 
  • - Relevance to Theme: How well does the artwork reflect the theme "Our Future World"? 
  • - Technical Skill: The level of skill demonstrated in the artwork 
  • - Aesthetic Appeal: The overall visual impact of the artwork 
  • - Public Voting: The popularity of the artwork among the public
